Ash is the Research & Training Coordinator at Storey & Ward Lawyers, combining extensive academic expertise and practical experience in policy, education, and research to drive the development of our training programmes and support our research initiatives.
Dr Ash Finn is the Research & Training Coordinator at Storey & Ward Lawyers, bringing a unique combination of academic achievement and hands-on experience in policy, research, and education. With a deep commitment to advancing both the academic and practical aspects of legal training, Ash plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s research initiatives and professional development programmes.
Before joining Storey & Ward Lawyers, Ash worked as a Policy and Liaison Officer at the Monash Graduate Association. In this role, he focused on higher education policy analysis, offering strategic recommendations to enhance graduate education. His ability to bridge the gap between academic research and practical policy solutions made him a key player in driving policy reforms and building stronger relationships between students and the institution.
In addition to his policy work, Ash has a significant academic background, having taught at both the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney. In these roles, he delivered lectures and seminars across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, covering a range of complex topics. Ash also provided academic guidance to students, helping them navigate their educational journeys and overcome academic challenges. His experience in teaching and mentoring further strengthens his role at Storey & Ward Lawyers, where his ability to engage with diverse audiences is key to developing our training programmes.
Ash’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He earned a PhD in Ancient History from the University of Melbourne, where his research focused on the relationship between Roman law and broader societal and cultural norms. His work offers valuable insights into the historical context of legal systems, contributing to his informed and nuanced approach to research. Ash also holds an MA with Distinction and a BA with First Class Honours in Classics from The University of Manchester, both of which have further refined his ability to analyse complex legal and historical structures.
